Medium: Acrylic on paper
I like to use paper for the different qualities it has to canvas and also to use acrylic paint in a watercolour type of method, i.e. building up thin layers. This piece is one of a series of works made on paper utilising the ripping up of 2 separate paintings and then reconstructing them together. I have used a restricted palette to help the harmony of the piece as a whole. The concept of reconstruction is to try to show different perceptions of reality consecutively. The perception an ant has of the world is very different to a whale, although they share the same planet. The perceptions we have as humans is only part of the whole reality. What is ‘reality’ anyway?….
